Malarkey Class 4 Best Price Promise Terms
These terms explain when a competing Class 4 roofing proposal qualifies, how Mr. GoodRoof compares the complete roof, how the $500-below guarantee is calculated, and which projects or pricing structures are excluded.
Effective and last updated .
1. Program overview
The Malarkey Class 4 Best Price Promise is a limited retail residential roof-replacement program offered by Mr. GoodRoof in its Middle Tennessee service area. For a current written proposal covering a genuinely comparable complete Class 4 roof, Mr. GoodRoof’s qualified final price will be at least $500 below the verified comparable competitor price.
If Mr. GoodRoof’s qualified final price is already $500 or more below the verified comparable competitor price, the Best Price Promise is satisfied and no additional adjustment applies.
The program compares the complete installed roof—not a promotional shingle line item alone.
2. Offer period and availability
The initial public offer window begins and ends , unless Mr. GoodRoof extends, revises, suspends, or withdraws future availability.
A homeowner must begin the review and provide the required written proposal while the offer is active. The proposal must remain valid when reviewed. Mr. GoodRoof may renew the program in later 30-day windows during the initial 90-day campaign test.
3. Eligible property and project
To qualify, the request must involve:
- The same residential property within Mr. GoodRoof’s service area.
- The same complete, full roof-replacement project.
- A full tear-off and replacement—not an overlay, repair, partial replacement, or commercial project.
- A named roofing shingle and package carrying a verifiable UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating.
- A proposal submitted before another contract is signed or installation begins.
4. Competing proposal requirements
The competing proposal must be:
- Current, written, genuine, verifiable, and still valid at the time of review.
- Issued by a properly licensed and insured contractor where required.
- Itemized enough to identify the exact shingle, product package, measurements, roof sections, and installation scope.
- Inclusive of mandatory labor, materials, required accessories, permits, disposal, taxes, and fees.
- Based on known property conditions and comparable access requirements.
- Available for direct verification by Mr. GoodRoof when reasonably required.
Mr. GoodRoof may request clarification or supporting documentation. An incomplete or unverifiable proposal does not qualify.
5. Apples-to-apples comparison standard
Mr. GoodRoof determines whether the proposals are genuinely comparable. The review may include:
- Property address, measurements, roof sections, pitch, access, and known conditions.
- Exact manufacturer, shingle, product package, Class 4 qualification, and product tier.
- Number of existing layers removed, tear-off, roof-deck inspection, and concealed-condition unit pricing.
- Underlayment, ice-and-water protection, starter, hip and ridge, valleys, penetrations, edge metal, and required accessories.
- Flashing treatment, including what is replaced, reused, repaired, evaluated, or not stated.
- Intake and exhaust ventilation evaluation and proposed corrections.
- Fastening, installation methods, permits, disposal, cleanup, and closeout documentation.
- Manufacturer and workmanship warranties, registration requirements, exclusions, and transfer rules.
- Mandatory fees, payment structure, financing costs, dealer fees, and total project economics.
“Not stated” does not automatically mean “not included.” Mr. GoodRoof may ask for written clarification before making a qualification decision.
6. How the $500 guarantee is calculated
Qualified final price = verified comparable competitor price minus at least $500.
- Mr. GoodRoof is already at least $500 lower. The Best Price Promise is satisfied; no further adjustment applies.
- The proposals are genuinely comparable, but Mr. GoodRoof is not yet $500 lower. Mr. GoodRoof adjusts the qualified final price to at least $500 below the verified competitor total.
- The proposals are incomplete or not genuinely comparable. The guarantee does not apply. Mr. GoodRoof may provide a Scope Difference Summary identifying what is different, unclear, or missing.
Any adjustment must be reflected in a written Mr. GoodRoof proposal or amendment approved by an authorized representative.
7. Malarkey product selection
Malarkey Vista® AR is the primary and default Class 4 shingle for this program and Mr. GoodRoof’s preferred Class 4 shingle for Middle Tennessee.
Malarkey Legacy® Scotchgard™ may be used as the premium architectural escalation option when Mr. GoodRoof’s approved product-equivalency matrix identifies a higher-grade competing Class 4 product that requires a tier-for-tier comparison. Windsor® is Malarkey’s separate designer-shingle line and is outside this campaign.
Mr. GoodRoof—not the competitor or homeowner—determines the qualifying Malarkey product tier based on the written comparison standard.
8. Financing and payment terms
Financing is reviewed case by case. A monthly payment alone is not a complete price comparison. To qualify, payment structures must be genuinely comparable based on total project economics, which may include the cash price, interest rate, term, dealer fees, promotional financing costs, required down payment, and total amount paid.
Materially different financing structures or costs that cannot be normalized fairly may be excluded. Mr. GoodRoof may offer a different payment method or financing structure as part of the qualified final proposal.
9. Exclusions
The Best Price Promise does not apply to:
- Insurance-settlement, contingency-contract, carrier-controlled upgrade, or deductible-waiver pricing.
- Any request to provide a Class 4 upgrade solely at carrier-controlled replacement pricing.
- Repairs, partial replacements, overlays, commercial projects, or materially different project scopes.
- Unnamed, expired, altered, withdrawn, fraudulent, or unverifiable proposals.
- Employee, family, special-relationship, builder, supplier, or other restricted pricing not generally available to the homeowner.
- Proposals that defer major required costs to change orders or omit mandatory fees.
- Materially different financing structures or costs that cannot be compared fairly.
- Requests made after another contract is signed or work begins.
- Combination with another Mr. GoodRoof promotion, discount, rebate, or special offer.
10. Verification and approval
Mr. GoodRoof may verify the proposal, contractor credentials, scope, measurements, product availability, payment terms, and mandatory fees before approving the Best Price Promise.
Qualification and any price adjustment require written approval from an authorized Mr. GoodRoof representative. Submission of a proposal does not create an automatic right to a price adjustment and does not obligate either party to enter a contract.
Mr. GoodRoof’s initial internal approval authority and margin controls are part of its private operational workflow and do not alter the public comparison standard.
11. Installation timing
Mr. GoodRoof targets installation within one week of sale for qualifying projects. This is a scheduling target—not an unconditional guarantee. Actual timing depends on weather, permitting, product availability, unusual or concealed project conditions, production capacity, customer selections, and other circumstances outside Mr. GoodRoof’s reasonable control.
12. Warranty language
Qualifying Malarkey roofing systems may include up to a Limited Lifetime manufacturer warranty. Exact coverage depends on the shingle, property type, customer-selected system, qualifying accessories, installation, registration, and current manufacturer terms.
Enhanced warranty coverage may be available through Mr. GoodRoof’s Malarkey Emerald Premium Contractor status when a qualifying complete Secure Choice™ roofing system is installed and all current requirements are satisfied. The final written proposal and current manufacturer warranty documents control.
No page, advertisement, or verbal description changes the written manufacturer or workmanship warranty terms.
13. Class 4 and insurance limitations
A Class 4 rating is an impact-test classification. It does not make a roof hail-proof and does not guarantee that a roof will avoid functional damage, cosmetic damage, granule loss, or an insurance claim.
An insurance premium discount may be available from some carriers for some products and policies, but no discount is guaranteed. Homeowners should confirm eligibility, documentation requirements, exclusions, and potential cosmetic-damage limitations directly with their insurer.
14. No stacking
The Best Price Promise cannot be combined with any other Mr. GoodRoof promotion, discount, rebate, or special offer. If more than one promotion could apply, the homeowner may select the single eligible option approved by Mr. GoodRoof.
15. Modification, suspension, or withdrawal
Mr. GoodRoof may extend, revise, suspend, or withdraw future availability of the program at any time. Changes apply prospectively. A written Best Price Promise already accepted by Mr. GoodRoof under the published terms will be handled according to the written acceptance and project agreement.
16. Proposal submission and privacy
Proposal documents are used to evaluate program eligibility, compare scope, and communicate with the homeowner. Do not submit Social Security numbers, bank-account information, payment-card information, medical information, or unrelated sensitive data.
By submitting a request, the homeowner confirms that they are authorized to share the proposal for evaluation. Information is handled under the Mr. GoodRoof Privacy Policy & Terms of Service.
