What is Malarkey Vista Class 4 roofing?
Vista® AR is Malarkey’s popular architectural shingle made with NEX® rubberized asphalt and rated Class 4 under impact testing. Mr. GoodRoof uses Vista as its preferred Class 4 shingle for Middle Tennessee and pairs it with a documented complete-roof installation—not a shingle-only quote. A Class 4 rating is not a promise that a roof is hail-proof.
Why start with an “upgrade” when you can start with the roof you want?
Some promotions begin with a standard shingle and advertise Class 4 as an upgrade. Mr. GoodRoof starts with the Malarkey Vista Class 4 system we recommend.
There is no promotional upgrade value to calculate. You receive a clearly documented product, installation scope, warranty path, and total project price from the beginning.
Why Mr. GoodRoof recommends Malarkey Vista
Vista combines an architectural profile with Malarkey’s NEX rubberized asphalt technology, a Class 4 impact rating, and warranty options that depend on the complete system installed.
The Class 4 shingle is only one part of the roof.
Two proposals may both say “Class 4” while describing very different roofing systems. Mr. GoodRoof documents the complete installed roof and known project costs.

Important warranty distinction
“Limited Lifetime” does not mean every roof receives identical coverage. Your written proposal and the current manufacturer warranty documents control.
Not sure you need a new roof?
This Class 4 program is for qualified full roof replacements. If inspection shows that repair or another solution is the right next step, Mr. GoodRoof will explain that instead. The goal is the right roof decision—not replacement at any cost.

Malarkey Vista Class 4 roofing FAQs
What does a Class 4 shingle rating mean?
UL 2218 classifies impact-resistant roof coverings from Class 1 through Class 4 using controlled steel-ball impact testing. Class 4 is the highest classification in that standard, but the test does not predict every form of visible or functional storm damage.
Are Class 4 shingles hail-proof?
No. Class 4 is an impact-test classification, not a guarantee against every hailstone, storm, cosmetic mark, granule loss, or future insurance claim.
Can a Class 4 roof lower my insurance premium?
Possibly. Eligibility depends on the insurance carrier, policy, product documentation, and exclusions. Mr. GoodRoof does not guarantee an insurance discount; confirm directly with your carrier before making a purchase decision.
What warranty comes with Malarkey Vista?
Vista includes a Limited Lifetime shingle warranty subject to Malarkey’s current terms. Enhanced coverage may be available when a qualifying complete roof system is installed and registered correctly. Your final written proposal will identify the applicable manufacturer and workmanship warranty path.
How quickly can Mr. GoodRoof install a Class 4 roof?
Mr. GoodRoof targets installation within one week of sale for qualifying projects. Actual scheduling depends on weather, permitting, product availability, project complexity, and production capacity.
Is Malarkey Legacy a designer shingle?
No. Malarkey describes Legacy as its highest-performing architectural shingle. Windsor is Malarkey’s separate designer-shingle line.
